Re: First team players have missed over 120 games through injury this season
DIFFERNCE IS THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US EVERY SEASON FOR AROUND 10 YEARS.
The only other Prem club who have similar shit every season is Arsenal but I doubt it's been going on as long.

Sick of idiots saying it's normal and posting up the current injury table as if that proves it.

Missed Hart but he only missed 1 game anyway

Didn't list Di Michelis cos he didn't miss any games through injury

Januzaj was on loan at Dortmund only back.

I've no idea mate but if you want accurate information about teams/players all over the world I'd never look beyond http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jumplist/startseite/wettbewerb/GB1

Personally don't care who moans or why.

That certainly wasn't the point of the initial post.

It is to show how far we've come over the last 2-3 seasons in how we've built our squad to cope with these injuries and how well Bilic has managed a squad with so many missing at times.

ah ok, that makes a bit more sense. what squad lists do injuryleague.com use?

because according to that we're 10th overall.

I guess my point was how can we include three right backs (not to mention tomkins) in our list of first team injuries as proof that we're much worse off than other clubs.

my overall point though would still be that it would be nice if people stop whinging and moaning about how we're the unluckiest team ever - making us sound like scousers.

First team squad Marston i.e the 25 named officially to the PL bar the youth players unless they are prominent.

There's no point in me just naming my first 11 and their injuries cos it might be different to everyone elses.

Plus anyway no-one has a first 11 anymore, every PL club utilises their squads.

Not so sure, he played pretty well in pre-season and had he been fit I would think he would have got his chance against Arsenal and then anything could have happened.

This labelling of players and positions seems a little Strange, Emenike for example is labelled 4th choice and yet will he be 4th choice if he goes and hits a hatrick on Sunday?

obviously just personal opinion - i'd have him behind byram/jenks/tomkins if everyone was fit.

i daresay slav would too.

Re: First team players have missed over 120 games through injury this season
Assuming of course that if they were fit they would all start every single game, which is not the case.

We've got a squad of 30 odd players for this very reason. If we didn't have injuries then some of those players and some of our current first team would likely be on the bench.

I get the point of the post but that's football these days.

How do you know O'Brien wouldn't have been first choice?

How have you decided who's first team and who isn't? O'Brien is/was our third choice right-back (4th behind Tomkins)

NSD,

I'd be interested in knowing the figures (I suspect we'd be very high up the league table in first XI games missed) but haven't got the time to do that, but if someone else does....!

The lists comprise of all 1st team squad members for every team. If you want to analyse first eleven's go for it.

AdamL 3:05 Thu Feb 18
Re: First team players have missed over 120 games through injury this season
I don't think it's fair to count all of these since, for example, O'Brien wouldn't be close to starting a game if every was fit.

Better to count true starting XI only, which for me is:

Song - 13 games
Lanzini - 13 games
Payet - 7 games
Reid - 9 games
Ogbonna - 5 games
Carroll - 12 games
Sakho - 17 games

assuming we'd never play Sakho, Carroll and Valencia together.
